Environmental Services Technician/ Full-time Days
Position: Environmental Services Technician
Location: Columbus, NC

St. Luke’s Hospital has a great opportunity for an experienced Environmental Services Technician! Our hospital is one of very few critical access hospitals in the country that earned 5-Stars in patient satisfaction from CMS in 2020 and we need YOU to help us get to the next level! In this role, you will be part of a progressive team dedicated to advancing the goals of the hospital, meeting the needs of our rural community, and providing outstanding care to our patients. At St. Luke’s, we ALL make a difference!

Essential Functions:
Must be flexible with schedule and willing to work days, nights, and evenings if needed.

Daily cleaning and supplying patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, lobbies, and any other assigned areas. Keep in accordance with Environmental Services Departmental standard procedures and policies. Use cleaning devices including microfiber wet and dry mops, dusters, vacuum cleaners, chemicals, and other housekeeping supplies.

Exposure Level
Category I. Position includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and tissues.

Required Knowledge, skills and abilities:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2. Ability to read and write
3. Ability to use a computer for checking email and employee education
4. Good oral and verbal communication skills

Physical/Mental Demands:
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for short periods of time.
Ability to stoop or bend for long periods of time.
