Our Doctor

Dr. Bodie is certified by the American Board of Urology. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Bodie completed his general surgery and urology residencies at the Cleveland Clinic. And he has served as a Professor of Urology at the University of SC, Tulane, Louisiana State, Southern Illinois, and currently at Edward Via College of Medicine.

Dr. Bodie sees his mission at St. Luke's as one of providing high-quality urologic care to Polk County and the surrounding region. His strong academic background, experience in contemporary urologic surgery, and patient advocacy are worthy differentiators.

Speaking of leading-edge, Dr. Bodie performs several procedures not widely found in the region. In operations such as "retrograde intrarenal surgery, Dr. Bodie can non-invasively remove large kidney stones, significantly reducing both recovery time and post-surgery complications. He's also conducted the hospital's first MRI/Ultrasound Fusion-guided prostate biopsy. This procedure can be performed in the office using the URO-Nav system is the easiest and most accurate means of detecting prostate cancer. He is also leading the region with his experience in "focal therapy for prostate cancer treatment and Tubeless Percutaneous Nephrostolithotomy (a minimally invasive means of removing very large kidney stones).

Dr. Bodie consider his greatest accomplishment to be his mentorship. "I find great fulfillment in the training of more than 1000 medical students, residents, and graduate physicians in the study of urology and transplantation," said the doctor. He chose St. Luke's, because, "the smaller size of the hospital allows for rapid change and adaptation, which is the hallmark of modern medicine." He also notes the extraordinary support of the hospital administration, peers, and the community. In addressing the strengths of St. Luke's Urology Associates, Dr. Bodie believes "accessibility, surgeon experience, and the medical education and training of medical students and residents place the clinic at one of the premier urology practices in the region."

This talent level has not been seen before in Polk County, and we are extraordinarily pleased to have Dr. Bodie on staff. He is a genuine game-changer for our region.
